Thought For The Day by Al Boulden

Matthew 2:3  “When King Herod heard this he was disturbed, and all Jerusalem with him.”

Not everyone rejoiced at the birth of Christ.  When Magi came to Herod, scripture tells us “he was disturbed.”  Apparently, many were not ready for Messiah.  Religious leaders were comfortable with power and position they held. Gentiles were unaware that Christ would come as Savior for all nations.  Satan was active stoking up hatred and conspiracy to undermine the plan of God.  How foolish.  Do we not face much the same today?  So many actively resist the message of salvation through Jesus Christ.  They are blinded by false or partial Truth.  Many are lost in love for self and personal pleasure.  Hatred of Christians is active and alarming.  What are we to do?  We do the same as 1st century Believers….stand firm and assured in personal salvation and go throughout the world(and your community) sharing the Good News with others.  We do not hate our enemies.  We love them and demonstrate the love of Christ, especially so during Christmas.  He IS the reason for the season.

Lord, thank You for awareness of opposition. Strengthen us to lovingly stand firm in the face of lost souls.  Allow Your Spirit to shine within us as we celebrate birth of the Savior.

Shine for the Savior today.
