James 3:17 “But the wisdom from above is first pure, then peaceable, gentle, open to reason, full of mercy, and good fruits, impartial and sincere.”
Do you know anyone with these traits? If so, you are blessed and so are they. God’s wisdom changes hearts. Instead of selfish motives and strife to get it, drive in life is filled with reason and gentleness. Seeking Truth sincerely and exhibiting Fruit of the Spirit (Galatians 5:22) becomes more of the rule. Such a person has less concern for self; rather, looking to please the Lord and tend to the needs of others becomes more of the rule. Maturing in Christ enhances wisdom, which ought to be a life-long goal. Perfection is rarely, if ever, achieved on this side of heaven. That’s why Jesus paid the price for past, present and future sins. Start each day with desire to please God. Walking in His ways will lead to wisdom regardless of circumstances.
Lord, thank You for defining the merits of wisdom. Empower us to lessen the draw of selfishness and world nature. Fill us with the Spirit so that we check actions before they occur. Remind us to keep eyes on You and others in a quest to be more Christ-like.
Seek wisdom from above today.
