1 Timothy 4:16 “Watch your life and doctrine closely. Persevere in them, because if you do, you will save both yourself and your hearers.”
What doctrine do you follow? Is it driven off of culture opinion, human logic or the Bible? If the Bible, is it centered on the Saving Grace of Jesus Christ? The Pope is visiting America this week. The tenets of Catholicism are grounded on the inerrant Word of God and the Holy Trinity. That is total Truth. Many Catholics, however, have been conditioned to a works-based salvation. Like many other denominations and religions, they cling to a false doctrine that heaven is earned through more good deeds than bad ones. Certainty of Heaven is found through recognizing sin nature and the fact that Jesus Christ died for the sins of those who confess with their mouth and believe in their heart that Jesus is Lord. Surrender to Jesus creates a relationship with the Lord, and a transformation in the heart that prompts works to glorify God. Salvation through grace with works that follow. That’s a big difference. Stand firm on the Saving Grace of Jesus Christ for personal salvation as well as for “hearers” in your influence.
Lord, thank You for grace through Jesus Christ. We know it is something we do not deserve but we so greatly appreciate. Transform our daily lives so that others note the joy that comes through Jesus.
