1 John 3:19 “Dear children, let us not love with words or speech but with actions and in truth.”
They say a picture is worth a thousand words. Actions, too, say so much more than words. There are many needs in the world…. it is impossible to be actionable to each one. Yes, prayer is powerful and we can pray for a cast of needs. The Lord never tires of hearing righteous prayer. But the Lord puts on our heart certain needs that require action. The action may be sacrificial. We give out of love and obedience. At such times, intent is to bless the receiver. Fact is, blessings to the giver are equally awesome. Such times center on intent. We don’t give or go for personal recognition. We act out of love and obedience. The litmus test centers on intent. If action is personal gain, blessings are less likely. If intent is to glorify God and/or obedience to God’s urging, joy is likely for both the receiver and giver. The world teaches gathering. The Bible teaches giving. Follow the Bible and be blessed with righteous actions.
Lord, thank You for blessings from actions that glorify You. Keep our ears tuned to appropriate needs, and help us respond with actions that further the Kingdom.
Love with actions today.
