1 John 5:14-15 “This is the confidence we have in approaching God: that if we ask anything according to his will, he hears us. And if we know that he hears us – whatever we ask – we know that we have what we asked of him.”
The closer we grow in Christ, the closer we draw to God’s will. Alignment with the Lord develops a Christ-like nature, and we find peace and confidence regardless of circumstances. That is maturity in the Lord. This is especially seen during tough times. Joy does not dissipate. A lukewarm Christian lives in amnesia regarding the blessings of salvation and the will of God. When tragedy hits, they suddenly fire up prayers to God for relief. They are not seeking God’s will….it’s their will they desire to be honored by God. That’s heresy! I marvel at the example of Syrian Christians who face death and destruction every day. So many examples of resting in God’s will in the face of horrendous treatment. The key to finding God’s will is cultivation of a deeper and deeper relationship with the Lord through prayer, study, fellowship and discipleship. Seek His will and you will find it.
Lord, thank You for maturing us so that Your will is revealed. Deepen our relationship and show us paths to take every day. We strive to know You in an active way so that the evil one has no chance.
Grow in God’s will today.
