The Texas Christian Athletic Fellowship (TCAF) indicated on its Facebook page on Wednesday, September 27, 2017 that it would sponsor 11-man football next fall.
When asked which of its schools would be making the leap from six-man football — a sport it currently sponsors, the organization’s response was a bit more tepid.
“I think that at this point that is for them to divulge, if they feel necessary. Each school needs to take care of that,” the organization stated. “We will release that information here as soon as it becomes official and we get our registrations in, which will be January 2018.”
Nineteen (19) schools were currently listed on the weekly rankings at sixmanfootball.com, Texas’ top Internet site for six-man football, public or private.
“Possibly” was the response when LSCSN.com followed up on whether the 11-man division would be made up of existing member schools or if some schools have already communicated to the organization that they will be leaving the Texas Association of Private and Parochial Schools (TAPPS).
Nine schools are listed for Division I and 12 for Division II on the organization’s website, tcafellowship.com.
Published brackets indicate both division’s championship games will be on Friday, November 24, 2017 at Springtown Stadium, northwest of Fort Worth.
