Beating Salado’s Jaci McGregor to the finish line by three seconds, Round Rock Christian Academy’s Madison Brown, third at last October’s TAPPS 3A girls state cross country meet, won the girls 1A-4A division of Saturday’s Temple Invitational with a two-mile time of 13:12.
Brown, a junior, was joined in victory by TAPPS 2A girls state runnerup Temple Holy Trinity Catholic High School who won the 1A-4A girls division by putting four of its five scoring runners all in the top ten.
Led by TAPPS 2A all-state performer sophomore Dominique Weisbruch, with her sixth overall effort of 14:26.5, Holy Trinity Catholic nearly doubled up runner-up Salado, 50 points to 98.
Sophomore Sydney Jolly was eighth overall in 14:33, followed immediately in ninth and tenth by Carisa Torralva and Abby Rockwood with times of 14:37 and 14:38, respectively.

In the boys 1A-4A division, Temple Holy Trinity Catholic High School’s John Castro – sixth overall at the TAPPS 2A state meet last October — led all private school runners with a 16th place, five-kilometer finish of 19:13.
