Football Power Rankings – Week 1

TAPPS Division I
1. Bishop Dunne – Two receivers with 100+ yards and the Falcons forced 5 turnovers on the road in Beaumont on Saturday against solid UIL 6A squad. Team is loaded with talent on both sides of the ball.

2. Prestonwood – Battle with SPC power All Saints gave Lions all they could handle. Lions had solid QB play and almost 10 yards a carry from Cade Gocke. Huge matchup with top ranked SPC team, Bellaire Episcopal, in week 2.

3. St. Thomas – Eagles held off a tough Kinkaid team after reeling off 27 straight points. This week, STH plays a huge rivalry game against Strake.

3. St. Pius X – Panthers flew to Las Vegas and controlled the game start to finish. Gunnell and crew as advertised.

5. Central Catholic – Buttons return a ton of talent on offense and it showed in dominating fashion against Kennedy.

TAPPS Division II
1. Dallas Christian – No surprise to see the Chargers atop again. 52-0 winners on the road against Westbury Christian in week 1.

2. Tyler Grace – We didn’t see much from the Coogs in week 1 against Waxahachie Life in a 46-0 win. Defense was dominant and QB Christopher Wilhelmi was held out of the game. We can’t wait to see their offense at full strength.

3. Grapevine Faith – Lions shutout St. Michaels in week one. Travel to Florida for week two game.

4. Fort Worth Christian – Cardinals eked out a win over Country Day to open the season. We are thrilled about the week three matchup with Dallas Christian.

5. Holy Cross – Knights opened with a shutout of Lanier. Winner of the last five district crowns, poised to make it six.

TAPPS Division III
1. Northland Christian – Spoiled debut for LSA’s Richard Stallings in his first game as head coach of the Pioneers. Northland looks to be solid favorite after move down to Division III.

2. Shiner St. Paul – Dropped a close one to Yorktown in a defensive battle, still a solid top tier team.

3. Cypress Christian – Another squad returning to Division III, promptly opened with impressive shutout of Brazos Christian.

4. Reicher – The move back to Division III will cause a lot of grief for opposing teams. Cougars opened up with a shutout and put up 40+ under new head coach John Ryan.

5. McKinney Christian – Mustangs had maybe the most impressive win in D-III by soundly beating The Woodland Christian. We find out this week if they have staying power as they face Trinity Christian Cedar Hill.

SPC
1. Bellaire Episcopal – Knights on a mission to finish what they could not achieve last season. Huge game with TAPPS powerhouse Prestonwood slated for Friday night.

2. Episcopal School of Dallas – Offense keeps churning with return of Seth Washington at QB, who is reportedly out this week with a minor injury. We see if ESD is a legit contender this week in showdown with Dallas Christian.

3. Houston Christian – Mustangs faced no real challenge in week one and have an open date for week two.

4. All Saints – Saints have to replace a ton of talent, gave Prestonwood all they could handle. Faces another TAPPS I-1 opponent in TCA on Friday.

5. Trinity Valley/Cistercian/GreenhillJohn Cooper – League play begins this week for SPC 3A after impressive week one for these four squads
