2019 TAPPS Fall Soccer Championship

Dallas International School captured the 2019 TAPPS fall soccer championship with a 2-1 victory over Brownsville First Baptist. The Tigers took a 1-0 lead into halftime after Pierrick Afopa netted a goal to beat First Baptist keeper Mauricio Valenzuela Garza on the left side of goal at the 27-minute mark.

After the break, the Crusaders from Brownsville tied the game at 1 on a header by Luis Lopez Ariceaga fifteen minutes into the half. The contest went back and forth in a defensive battle until the Tigers’ Bennett Chia fought his way through several First Baptist defenders to score the go-ahead goal with 8:20 left to play.

Dallas International School captured their second title in three years after missing the state tournament last season.
